TV Not Found by Remote App

If AnyTV Controller cannot find your Android TV, Google TV or Chromecast device, the problem is usually local network visibility. Your iPhone and TV must be able to see each other on the same Wi-Fi network.

Quick Checklist

  1. Connect both the iPhone and TV to the same Wi-Fi network name.
  2. Disable VPN, iCloud Private Relay or security apps that route local traffic.
  3. Avoid guest Wi-Fi, hotel Wi-Fi and networks with client isolation.
  4. Wake the TV and keep it on the home screen while scanning.
  5. Restart the TV and router, then scan again.
  6. Confirm the device is in the supported device catalog.

Why Guest Networks Break Discovery

Many guest networks allow internet access but block local device discovery. A phone on the guest network may not be allowed to talk to a TV on the main network, even if both networks come from the same router.

Move both devices to the same regular home Wi-Fi network before scanning.

When the TV Is Off

Some Android TV and Google TV devices stay reachable in standby. Others disconnect from Wi-Fi when powered off. If the app cannot wake the TV, use the physical power button once, then reconnect from the app.

Still Not Working?

Open same Wi-Fi network setup and compare your router, VPN and band settings. You can also check whether your TV brand appears in the brand guides.
